Meet Fabian Quartamont: partnership and action for field service logistics Droppoint has welcomed Fabian Quartamont as National Account & Business Development Manager.

  • Field service logistics partnership for outcomes. Spare parts logistics. Warehousing. Project logistics. Integrated logistics
  • Fabian Quartamont, National Account Manager at Droppoint

‍

Droppoint has recently welcomed Fabian Quartamont as our new National Account & Business Development Manager. He looks after our existing clients across Australia and brings new field service organisations on board. We sat down with Fabian over a long macchiato to find out what drives him, what surprised him in his first week, and why he thinks logistics is "life support".

"Custom rather than cookie cutter"

What stood out most in Fabian's first week was how differently Droppoint looks after its clients.

"I was surprised by how many different and unexpected ways there are to service clients," he says. "The team takes a creative approach to find solutions and provide that next layer of care. Our operations team designs solutions for our clients and for the end users, the technicians in the field. It's custom rather than cookie cutter. We're a partner, not a faceless supplier."

At a barbecue, he’d keep it simple, describing his role at Droppoint to friends: "I find missed money opportunities for my clients through logistics. That could be project services, technician time, warehousing, or a combination through integrated services."

A career built on spotting gaps

Before Droppoint, Fabian built his career on finding what people wanted but couldn't get yet, and then making it happen. That included launching a hair, nails and beauty business in Sydney off the back of a gap in the market, and working in wellness & longevity alongside recruitment and IT sales.

One of his proudest moments came from that instinct. "I identified the need, pitched the solution to my manager, and discovered over $600k in revenue."

Another is more personal. In recruitment, Fabian placed a candidate from India who had been working odd jobs in Australia for a few years. The role meant he could bring his family into the country after being apart for years. "He sent me a box of wine as a thank you," Fabian says. "That one stays with you."

Why Droppoint?

"It's a unique offering where I can bring my whole self to the role," Fabian says. "The service is niche, the space we operate in is interesting, and I get to be creative. I can show up and do the job without leaving part of myself at home."

The role

Fabian's days are about understanding clients deeply. He works out who we serve best, what each client needs for their own customer satisfaction and financial goals, and how Droppoint can support them to deliver on both.

"It's about getting to know the people, in the business, not just the businesses’ employees.” That subtle difference is paramount to Fabian as it makes delivering much easier.

Inside Droppoint, he works most closely with Kimberly, Cindy, Shane and Derek across customer care & satisfaction, account service, technology and finance. On the client side, he partners with Service Delivery Managers, Heads of Operations, CFOs, COOs and Supply Chain Leads.

His goal for the first six months is clear: "Establish personal relationships and bring each of them a new, unique and beneficial experience that adds real value."

What field service teams really need

Asked what field service teams struggle with most, Fabian has a three-word answer: "Efficiency, support, morale." In his view, what Droppoint really solves for is their downstream customer satisfaction and the trust people have in that brand.

His take on logistics is even bigger. "Logistics is what makes the world go around. It's powerful. It's life support."

The best advice he's had since starting fits that view. "Notice just how much logistics surrounds you and affects your life, every single day. Once you do, you start seeing logistical movements everywhere, and you appreciate them a lot more."

Outside work

Away from the office, Fabian is a father to a 13-month-old who is running laps around the living room. He's also working on mastering the entrepreneur's skill set, and his desk is stacked with books on high achievers and profound thinkers.

He recharges with a sauna session and a good workout. One thing that might surprise the team is his love of pairing whiskey or wine with exceptional cigars & experiences, an interest passed down from his Mother and Aunt.

"For me it's a kind of meditation," he explains. "Being still for a few hours instead of watching TV or being distracted leads to reflection and discovery. It puts you in a good headspace." After COVID, he started a group to curate experiences for men in Melbourne & Sydney to congregate and express challenges and learnings from their lives & the perspectives gained. The group also builds connection not just networks as they share a toast & cigar - actually opening up about life.

30 seconds with Fabian

If a client only had half a minute with him, here's what Fabian would want them to know that “the thinking and solutions I bring will be different. My style is straightforward but caring, authentic, genuine and helpful.”

Get in touch

Existing clients can reach Fabian through their usual email or phone channels. New clients can contact him through the Droppoint website enquiry form.

"Come to me for fresh perspectives, straight-up thinking and solutions, and a great partnership experience."

Welcome to the team, Fabian.
